The bead is 2mm, so the wearable length of the bar with the bead on is 6mm. If you find that is too short for your piercing, you can remove the bead. Choose your bead color, show with #21. I used this piercing for my rook, and I was so impressed with the piercing initially. However, I’ve worn this piece for about two months and it’s unusable. The crystal top of the earring came off, and I’m unable to fix it in anyway because the threads used to twist the earring to the bar are eroded. Of note, I noticed the crystal of the earring turning black which I thought was odd as well. The earring was never manipulated except to gently wash my ear with soap and water in the shower. It was never exposed to a hot tub or pool. I contacted the seller to see if they could do anything about it, but sadly a resolution could not be reached. I’ve never had a piece of jewelry for my rook go bad, so I’m so sad this piece didn’t hold up to quality standards.
